The oil painting, "Morning Journey" is dear to my heart. The autumn landscape setting is in the lower pasture at Sunset Hill Farm in Bartlett, IL. The chestnut horse, named Journey, is leading the way for his friends strolling down a path of unknown adventure. Journey has been a wonderful companion in dressage and in countless other ways throughout my life. Achieving the experience of floating and gliding in the air on a riding horse through collection is the ultimate of goals for equine riders. Journey fulfilled my dreams in those special moments when our spirits joined and movement became one in the dressage discipline. To achieve balance, harmony and collection in riding is to experience Nirvana.
