Distinctiveness is central to the logo, for if non existant, your firm may be percieved simply as a part of the many. One of the objectives is to create a mark that put your business in a place where it stands apart from the many.
(1): Epicurus is a catering firm where its name beg 'u' to 'E' mail 'us'. The type style suggest a sense of distinctiveness and sophistication, while implying a table (large E) and setting (extended p) as though it were an eating utensil. The houndstooth pattern is particular to uniforms worn in commercial kitchens. The four stars are the highest rating for fine dinning establishments.
(2): The theme here is accessability via the open book (sideways k) and the connectivity of the words: The, York and Library as though it were mimicking the infamous N.Y.C. subway system. The solid 'o'of the word 'York' is an anthropomorphic implication of the individual or you, to whom all at the N.Y.P.L. is accessable.
(3): I use this mark on cards, stationary and letterheads when personal communications related to my art occur. The concept here is to imply and contrast fine art (M) and the more commercial, technically structured (S) arts.
(4): This is the title page, introducing my logo works within the self-published book entitled "A Grafik Presentation" samfoto@earthlink.net
